This 2-hour online course will go through the following topics and provide insights to the BC residential builders and professionals:

•    Discuss the exciting overarching opportunities as well as some potential repercussions that come with the BCESC compliance process on project delivery approaches.
•    Goals of the Step Code
•    Go over ways to conform the project schedule to consider coordinating supply chains and subcontractors regarding the enclosure and mechanical systems along with the compliance processes to the BCESC.
•   Explore ways where the diverse range of trades/ subcontractors coming into the industry are considered, and in which the project can approach capacity development with inclusive training.
•    Step Code Metric
•    Trades/Subcontractors’ Considerations in Different Project Approaches
•    Walk through the ways to be able to establish the steps needed to become accustomed from current building processes to the new BCESC compliance processes.
•    Changes to the Design and Build Processes
•    Processes, Compliance, & Roles
•    Walk through what should be done to make guidelines for team members on the timing of on-site checks.
•    Go over how managing costs and trade-offs requires synchronizing the utilization of the Integrated Design Process in BCESC project delivery.
•    The Integrated Design Process
•    Go over how to orient project goals across the entire project team to mitigate miscommunications, and how to be supportive of team members, taking in their feedback and providing incentives to them to work to meet various targets.
•    Energy Modelling and Costing
•    Explore ways to develop safeguards and contingencies to deal with any potential missed BCESC requirements.

By the end of the in-depth course, learners will have a better understanding of the subjected topic and gain better knowledge
